Occupancy Tax  is the tax instituted by cities and other local municipalities on Hotel stays within their administrative boundaries. Usually calculated as a percentage of the cost of lodging (for example 8\% or 10.5 \%). Occupancy tax can also be a fixed price calculated per room or per person.
