Historic City of Ayutthaya

French: Ville historique d’Ayutthaya
The Historic City of Ayutthaya is a World Heritage site in Thailand and defined by the UNESCO in 1991 and definitely a recommended cultural sightseeing location.
It is on position 658 (671, 96) in our monthly survey..

"Founded c. 1350, Ayutthaya became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendour."
