Gate is the where passengers board a plane.

In the travel context, a gate refers to a designated area within an airport where passengers board and disembark from airplanes. Here are some examples of gates in the travel industry:

1. Boarding gate: This is the specific gate from which passengers board their flight. Boarding gates are typically assigned a number or letter designation and can be located throughout the airport.

2. Departure gate: This is the gate from which a flight departs. Passengers are usually required to check in at the departure gate at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

3. Arrival gate: This is the gate where passengers disembark from a flight upon arrival at their destination. Arrival gates are usually located in the terminal where baggage claim is located.

4. Connecting gate: This is the gate where passengers transfer from one flight to another when making a connecting flight. Connecting gates are usually located near each other to allow for easy transfer of passengers and their luggage.

Gates are often equipped with boarding bridges or jetways, which are enclosed passageways that connect the aircraft to the gate area.
